NOA Counseling, and particularly Ms. Lada Odobasic, have been wonderful to work with. The needs of our facility, no matter how great or small, have been met swiftly by Lada and her team. I would recommend her group for any correctional facility that wants to increase their safety and security through evidenced based programming.

MRT is the only inmate program to which I have heard an inmate say, “this program has changed my life!”  The program make a positive difference in the inmates that we supervise today and the citizens that are in the community tomorrow.  Lada and her team are professional and committed to providing us with a quality product and quality staffing. –

During my 20 plus years working with incarcerated men I have been continuously involved with inmate programs. I have seen them come and go. Some have been successful and some not so much. The Moral Recognition Therapy Program (MRT) has been the most successful program I have seen in regards to inmates making a positive change in their lives. This program  helps them help themselves. I have seen inmates make that positive mental change whereby they realize that they can be positive productive citizens. Going through the class they are made aware of their long history of wrong thinking which resulted in their wrong actions. The MRT Program would be beneficial in any environment that the participants needs positive direction that will lead to positive outcomes. Completion of this program has reduced recidivism while improving inmates lives in a positive manner.

Noa Counseling provides us with excellent and caring instructors who tailor their programming to our offender population.  The quality of their individualized case notes and fastidious tracking of attendance was always timely and accurate. We have seen positive results in several Offenders who graduated from Noa Counseling programs.   The best testament to their quality is the numerous letters I receive from Offenders praising the instructors and describing how the program changed their “criminal” way of thinking.

– Anna Valentine, Deputy Warden of Programs KSR

Programming for inmates is imperative to prepare them for life outside of the institutional setting.  NOA’s programs and instructors ensure that each inmate is given the necessary information in order to do just that.  The instructors that are teaching our inmates are beyond competent, their attention to detail in all aspects (teaching, paperwork, etc.) are impeccable.

Before Lada, The detention center was offering Portals New Directions, 24/7 Dad’s, GED and Work Keys. All of these programs are great, but we really wanted to offer more programs that would help keep our recidivism down. Help these guys and gals to stay out once they get released from the system. I had contacted DOC and asked them about the different programs offered and was able to get contact information for a Trainer that offered all the classes we were interested in.

I had no idea this contact would change the world as I know it. As the days grew closer to our training day, the three of us facilitators were so excited about what was soon to come. After the training we would not be only offering 4 programs but after the training we would be able to offer 9.

We were being trained on: MRT; Relapse Prevention; Anger Management; A Mothers & Fathers Parenting Class.

The day was finally here; Day 1 of training. As I walked into the Conference Room at the jail, Lada Odobasic greeted me and shook my hand. She was the trainer I had spoken to on the phone and over email to schedule the training. She greeted me with a big smile and pointed at the bags she had provided for us for training. Inside these bags were ink pens, paper, sticky notes, you name it and she had it.

We went over PowerPoints on MRT and she explained what the program was all about. I had no idea how much thought and effort went into this program. As we started to get into the books a bit, I realized why this program was evidence based. If you do this book exactly as it says to there is no way you can leave the program without getting anything out of it.

We went over Anger Management, Relapse Prevention and the Parenting Classes. As Lada lead us through our books, the dedication she has to these programs is truly moving. She truly believes in each one of the programs.

Lada had it all together, she was an amazing trainer. She is wise way beyond her years and was able to explain every bit of every program and answer any questions we had. The information I took from Lada was life changing for me. Lada had me questioning my own belief system and my own way of thinking. She is always a phone call away if we have any questions that come up while facilitating the programs and very eager to help.

I highly recommend Lada to anyone wanting to improve their lives and the lives of their inmates.

Thank You Lada! If I ever had an issue, I simple communicated with Ms. Odabasic who quickly responded with a corrective plan of action.
